Plantation is an harbinger of prosperity considering the manifold benefits of plants, including that they release oxygen into air, absorb unpleasant odors as well as harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide from the air and purify it, provide us with food and play many other pivotal roles, so a need to carry out plantation drive become utmost important. We carry out plantation drives with the help of our volunteers all over the globe and plant trees and nourish them later. “Trees of Today were planted by your forefather, so follow their suits”
We believe in promoting that what can be done to help make a difference in our environment every day and we believe that there are many opportunities to go green by Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. We at Shanaya & Siyarah’s Plant Bank organize timely orientation sessions on ‘Guide to Reducing Waste’ at various Anganwadis, Shelter Homes, Orphanages, Educational Centers etc. to educate them about ways to reduce household waste.
We at Shanaya & Siyarah’s Plant Bank planned to make Recycle centers where people can drop there things which cannot be reused by them. For instance, old microwave, printer cartridges, mobile phone etc. Further like Lead acid batteries are 98% recyclable and are hazardous if not handled correctly. It is estimated only 3% of mobile phones are recycled, wasting precious resources.
We promote a greater awareness of the importance of the "Reduce" part of the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle mantra. We through our orientation teaching programs educate the underprivileged communities about the ultimate goal that is learn how to make a Zero Waste Home. We through the Eco Footprint, Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint calculators give a great way of teaching to determine how we are impacting the environment
We timely conduct Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). Environmental Impact Assessment is a process of evaluating the likely environmental impacts of a proposed project or development, taking into account inter-related socio-economic, cultural and human-health impacts, both beneficial and adverse whereas Strategic Environmental Assessment is the formalized, systematic and comprehensive process of identifying and evaluating the environmental consequences of proposed policies, plans or programmes to ensure that they are fully included and appropriately addressed at the earliest possible stage of decision-making on a par with economic and social considerations.
We through our Environmental education plan foster clear awareness of, and concern about, economic, social, political and ecological inter independence among underprivileged committees. We provide every underprivileged person with opportunities to acquire the knowledge, values, attitudes, commitment and skills needed to protect and improve the environment and create new patterns of behaviour of underprivileged individuals, underprivileged groups, and underprivileged society as a whole towards the environment.
